Jean-François Rey is the founder of the IYU brand, which was created in 2005 in Marseille. The label has developed rapidly since its creation and its glasses have won over not only French women, but also international customers. The brand's accessories are now available in more than 12,000 points of sale worldwide. The main shops in France being in Bandol, Juan Les Pins, Sanary sur Mer, Bastia, and Saint Tropez.

The style of the glasses made in the workshops of the IYU Design brand can be inspired by a historic place in the city of Marseille such as the Old Port or by Japanese culture. IYU sunglasses are often colorful and feature modern and refined frames. Metal and acetate are the main materials used by the label in the production of these accessories. Materials with wood and silk effects are also sometimes present in glasses.
